I spoke with you on the phone about a month ago as I was considering taking yoga.
First of all, you were so wonderful to talk to, thank you. We chatted a bit and I explained that I have major back issues, (2 spinal surgeries and spent 8 months flat on my back). That was a quite a few years ago and I still have a lot of issues with my back. I had been a hard core gym fanatic for the last 7 years up until last December when my back issues resurfaced but in different ways. I haven’t been able to work out since…many chiro, physio and massage visits did nothing really…just put a band aid on the problems. You explained how yoga would probably help me.
I have been taking yoga at your studio for about a month now and all I can say is WOW!! I ‘already’ feel much better, totally LOVE the classes and your instructors are wonderful. She’s also very accommodating of different abilities, giving easier and more difficult variations for most poses. It has been about 8 months since I started the yoga classes with Vancouver Corporate Yoga @ Metrotown and have noticed a remarkable change in my body & life.
Essentially, I decided it was time to do something about the pain in my left hip from (result of a roller blading injury from 5 years previous). I was experiencing a lot of joint & muscle pain, headaches, backaches, etc. In general, not a physically well person. As soon as I discovered that there would be Yoga classes in our newly built gym, I signed up. What did I have to lose??
Well, I no longer have back pain, headaches, or joint stiffness – almost got the kink out of my left hip (I’m sure I will see an end to that discomfort soon too). I certainly have more energy now and my body has toned up significantly leading me to lose a couple of dress sizes in the process. I’ve received many comments on how much better I look now. And when you’re in your mid-Fifties, every little bit of help to look better and fit is a bonus to living a fuller life.
If you offered classes everyday – I’d be one of the first to sign up!!!

Wow Sunny, I can’t begin to say how much I love attending your classes; you and your co-workers (Ariel and Tara) are great!
As a runner my legs were feeling tight and I was concerned it would affect my stride and cause injuries. But I still skimped on my stretching and my usual stretch routine was not very comprehensive. Once I started with Vancouver Corporate Yoga, I was hooked! The fact that the classes are at my workplace makes it easy for me to attend and fit into my day (it’s “auto-scheduled” because of the lunch hour class time) – and because I am at the office, I have already arrived at class (no commute to a gym!). As for the workout, I am stretching places that I didn’t know existed! No more hamstring woes for me – “pigeon” anyone?
Some unexpected bonuses though:
1. The classes are a wonderful break in the day and the week. I look forward to your classes as they not only work out the body but refresh the mind and mood.
2. Call me crazy but I think all that spinal stretching has made me taller because my jeans are noticeably shorter. Sceptics may say that the dryer shrunk my jeans and that may be so but then why are they not tighter? Either way, I win!

Yoga for me has been the complete work-out. For years, I would rush off to the gym to get my work-out in, only to leave after an hour, not feeling very relaxed and often rushed.
With yoga, I’m not only getting a great work-out in, I am refreshed as well as relaxed at the end of it. Complete body and soul fitness. The increased flexibility has not hurt my golf game either.

If you want a really good ab workout, Hector is definitely the one to give that to you! Not only do his classes help tone and firm all parts of your body, his classes are a lot of fun. Here are my thoughts on my experience of the yoga classes at TD Tower so far.
The beneficial effects of the weekly yoga classes (sense of well-being, feeling relaxed, looking kindly and patiently upon my fellow human beings) last for 3-4 days!
After the first couple of classes, the muscles in my legs and arms were already appreciable firmer and stronger.
I am finding myself drawn more often to foods that are good for my body, and I appreciate how my body feels when I eat well.
Both Ariel and Brenda are excellent. I feel terrific!
Sunny teaches a 1 hr. class at noon. She is a terrific instructor she’s very knowledgeable and is able to work with students at all levels in the same class! I highly recommend her yoga classes to others what a great de-stressor in the middle of the day!

I have tried many other sports, such as swimming, biking, running, and I can honestly say that nothing has made me feel as good as yoga. It leaves you feeling stronger, more flexible, while calming your mind, leaving you feeling more relaxed. It is an overall workout for the body and the mind.
Yoga has been a surprising experience for me. Not only have I had chronic back problems due to 3 car accidents, but I have had stiffness in my ankles from previous injuries which has been compounded by taking up running. Since starting yoga, my ankles are no longer stiff in the mornings and I can feel a difference in my back and hips. I am happy to say that after years of monthly chiropractor appointments, I can finally see that there will be an end! Last but not least, what a surprise it was for me to find that not only is yoga great for stretching, but it is also an excellent toning workout that leaves me flushed and feeling every muscle in my body. Overall, it’s been a fantastic experience.
